Romance Junkies reviews
"Anita Birt has filled her novel A VERY DIFFICULT MAN with rich detail and interesting characters. I really enjoyed the pacing of the plot because it allows the reader to get to know the many of the characters well and get a feel for the setting.

...The way that Catherine and Richard flirt with one another is funny and sweet but there are also enough misunderstandings and obstacles between them to keep things interesting and make the ending that much more satisfying for the reader. I recommend this story to anyone who enjoys thoughtfully written historical romances."

Fallen Angel Reviews

From reviewer, Linda L. of Fallen Angels Review, a Five Angel review:

“I cannot remember the last time that such a story really jumped out in every way as A Very Difficult Man did when I read it. I loved the dialogue, … and the way Richard emitted such scarred emotion that leapt off the pages.”

“The well-rounded secondary characters are a true delight to this tale and make it even more believable. Anita Birt does a marvelous job in penning a remarkable work that really delivers compelling credibility to the read. She blends a cast of colorful characters that react like a family in every action they take. I think this tale is splendid and comes as a recommended read.”

Five Angel Review
The Romance Studio
From The Romance Studio, a Five Heart review for Anita's historical romance,
A Very Difficult Man.

"What a beautiful love story evolved from this former heiress and her charge, a wounded soldier, alienating himself from the world because of his experiences during the Crimean War. A Very Difficult Man is the perfect title for this moving account of two people who are unexpectedly drawn to each other..."

The reviewer, Brenda Talley, loved the book. " I was unfamiliar with the author, Ms Birt; however, I loved her work and intend to seek out any other material she has written."

Five Heart Review
Five Heart Review

From reviewer, Rista Tompkins, of the Romance Readers Connection:

“This story oscillated between a sweet and simple story and that of a Jane Austen novel."

“My favourite character was certainly that of Lord Glenmore.  His brooding surly nature was excellently described, making his moments of tenderness all that much more pleasing."

"I truly liked this story. With amazing details and the addition of a gypsy, it was a joy to read."
